Founder Spotlight: Don Sweet

A Lifetime of Service, Commitment, and Community Connection

Don Sweet's love for serving his community runs deep shaped not only by his decades of volunteer work, but also by his 36-year career with the City of Tallahassee in the transportation industry. Throughout his professional journey, Don became known for his reliability, strong work ethic, and genuine care for the people he encountered every day.

His service to the city reflects the same values he brings to Sweet Outreach CDC: consistency, compassion, and a commitment to making life better for others.

Long before founding Sweet Outreach CDC, Don was already a familiar face in the community. With over 40 years of DJ experience, he has provided music and entertainment for countless events, especially at the Walker Community Center and local schools. Many of these services were offered completely free, simply because Don believes in showing up for his neighbors and creating joyful spaces for youth and families. His early passion for music became a lifelong gift one he has used to uplift, encourage, and bring people together. Whether behind the DJ booth or serving the city through transportation, Don has always been driven by a heart for people.

That same spirit is what inspired him to establish Sweet Outreach CDC. Don's vision is rooted in the belief that strong communities are built through service, access, and compassion. His leadership reflects decades of hands-on experience, humility, and a deep understanding of the needs of the people he serves.
